Lisa ButtonFather of love, Creator of life,

I praise your holy and wonderful name today. I lift those praises to you as a person who has traveled an ever-changing path in life. Sometimes the path is smooth. Sometimes I have become distracted by the scenery along the way and have strayed a little off your path. Sometimes my path is a dark road where I struggle through the wilderness of everyday challenges, and it feels as though the world has shut its door in my face and left me out in the cold. I sometimes feel betrayed, lost, and alone. But no matter where I am in my journey, I celebrate the fact that when I look to you, I can see a light in the distance because you've left the porch light on for me. In fact, you've set a light in every window, the welcome mat is out, the coffee is on, and the door is wide open as you beckon me to come in, put my feet up, and rest in your love.

I thank you for inviting me in no matter how bedraggled and weary I might be. Warm and renew my body, mind, and spirit by the fire of your love. Blanket those I hold in my heart with your strength and healing.

As I go out into the world today, I realize that there are those who can't find their way home to you, and you long to find them. So I open myself to you. Turn your porch light on and let it shine through me. Set your light in the windows of my heart so that those who are lost will be drawn to your love and know they are invited home to you, a home where there is room for all.

I pray these things in the name of Jesus, the one who provided the way for me to come home. Amen.
